The combination worked like a charm. The Mindsystems ThemeReader even has a 21 day evaluation period so that you can try the software for free and produce as many MindManager mind maps as you like.

MindManager Viewer and Mindsystems ThemeReader make a great combination. You can find the Mindsystems ThemeReader for the MindManager Viewer at this link:

http://www.mindsystems.com....

The Mindsystems ThemeReader uses advanced thematic extraction technology to create a thematic signature of the documents major and minor themes. It them imports the information into a MindManager mind map. However, you can use the free MindManager Viewer to read the new thematic mind map of your document. You even get a Synopsis and Detailed Summary of the document right within the mind map. And you can locate any paragraph that has a theme in it simply by clicking on the Notes attachment to the theme node.

Enjoy create thematic mind maps of your own personal documents with the MindManager Viewer and Mindsystems ThemeReader today! It's way cool!

Re: Contest — Note Talkers

Yes Todd, they have. But, the resubmittions have to be submitted by the new deadline of 5/15/2006. I hope that helps

Sid

Re: Contest — Note Talkers

Um...but under the contest rules you specifically state:

"Map or screencast must be submitted by 5/15/2006 11pm EST to be eligible for prize package."

I submitted my *intent* early enough (and a rough MindMap), but am still touching up my final MindMap (I was told I could submit more than once, and--I guess--the last one in is "it").

Am I in? Am I out? I feel like Kevin Kline.

Re: Contest — Note Talkers

(The following is a copy of an e-mail I have just sent to contest@notetalkers.com)

Hello friends.

Well, after struggling along during the last ten days or so, I have finally finished my screencast demonstrating MindManager from a users point of view.

I downloaded the trial copy of Camtasia Studio but found that the learning curve was so steep that it would have taken me a couple of weeks to fathom out how to use it effectively. So I fell back to to an old favourite, Instant Demo, which I have used in the past for screen-capture but have never used to make a (feature-film length) movie.

After cleaning up unwanted frames I was surprised that the final flash-movie, after embedding a few background music files, was almost 21 mb. I then thought of inserting a voice introduction but found that the quality of the microphones I have is awful so I decided to do a TTS conversion. Everything went OK until I ran the movie. The new sound introduction file ran perfectly, but my movie stopped short by about 12%, apparantly their seems to be a maximum file size for the flash player of about 22 mb (confirmed on 4 different computers, three OS). To get around this problem I incorporated the voice introduction as a separate flash file (with control) into the htm page.

Along with the final MindManager Maps, I now have a total package of about 24mb.

My big question is: How do I upload this 24 mb package to contest@notetalkers.com ?

Cheers,

Tom Hodgers

Re: Contest — Note Talkers

I am sorry, the last two parts of the contest never got posted.
